Application:
1. Octocrylene is a UV-A and UV-B filter used in sunscreens and topical pharmaceutical preparations
2. Octocrylene (also known as: 2-Ethylhexyl 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate, Octocrylene) belongs to the cinnamate class of UV absorbers. Its peak absorption wavelength for UV radiation is 308 nm, and it exhibits strong absorption capacity for ultraviolet light in the 280–320 nm range (UVB). Octocrylene has a stabilizing effect on the UVA filter Avobenzone (Parsol 1789). Avobenzone is one of the organic sunscreen agents with the longest peak absorption wavelength to date. The maximum permitted concentration of Octocrylene in China, the EU, Japan, the USA, and South Korea is 10% (by mass fraction). However, in daily sunscreen products, the typical addition level ranges from 1-3%, with very few products containing up to 10%.
